    My responsibilities encompass the conception and execution of community outreach programs, which encompass initiatives in social media and community awareness. ABOUT ME

I am a career services professional and adjunct professor. Currently, I am the Assistant Director of Career Services at a private institution of higher education in New York and New Jersey.

At Berkeley College, I am responsible for ensuring that student and graduate issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner. I also provide career counseling to students and graduates, supporting their career development and job placement within their majors. Additionally, I audit and review the documentation and activity of the career counselors as needed.

I direct the online career services department, providing job placement and career development to online and on-campus students globally. I strengthens relationships with employers, organizations, affiliations, and needed community resources, and participates in employer development activities such as employer visitations, advisory boards, and on-campus recruiting, as well as the development of job and internship leads.

I also facilitate placement outcomes through action planning and goal setting. I build internship opportunities and facilitate the placement of interns. I also review cover letters, resumes, and other career-related materials from students and alumni, and customize workshops, on-site recruitment events, guest speakers, and employer panels based on designated majors.

Aside from my role as Assistant Director of Career Services, I am also an Adjunct Professor at Berkeley College, where I have been teaching Career Development I/Justice Studies and Legal Studies Career Development and the Internship course since January 2020. In my role as an adjunct professor, I introduce the fundamentals of career development and planning, instill skills on how to succeed academically and professionally, and guide students in setting appropriate career goals aligning with their skills and competencies. I teach students how to properly position themselves to targeted employers using traditional and online techniques, and I educate undergraduates on effective resume and cover letter writing. I have also assisted various departments with the enhancement of online course blueprints.

Prior to my current roles at Berkeley College, I worked as a Teacher's Assistant, engaging with students in CDV 2000/Career Development 101, which focuses on strengthening the resume and cover letter. I guided students through the development and creation of LinkedIn and how to best utilize the resource. I worked with adjuncts in Psychology of Adjustment/Freshman Seminar course, helping students think critically regarding their reflections on the value of their education. Additionally, I assisted instructors with Career and Business Essentials, featuring various aspects of career development from interview processes to resume writing. I have taught students how to effectively search for employment utilizing various technologies, as well as traditional and non-traditional techniques.

I have also taught public speaking at Passaic County Community College. As a public speaking instructor, my main responsibilities include creating and presenting weekly lesson plans based on the institution's curriculum, teaching students how to effectively communicate in public settings, providing constructive feedback on assignments and presentations, and grading student work. I am also responsible for developing and delivering course content, guiding struggling students, and collaborating with other faculty members to develop interdisciplinary course material. By teaching students how to research, organize, write, and deliver speeches that inform, persuade, motivate, and entertain, I help students develop valuable skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.
